Wall art made with vintage silk kimono. 

The blue and black pattern is called Yabane / Yagasuri (Arrow Feathers) and has the symbolism of "aiming for a target" and arrows have been used as an auspicious pattern in traditional garments. In the Edo period, kimono with this pattern was said to be given to a bride in the hope that she does not return home just like a straight-shooting arrow. Vivid yellow flowers give a nice contrast to the geometric Yabane pattern. This fabric is from the 1950s. Vintage kimono fabrics might have some blemishes, however we try to use the best preserved part.
